Playa Turchese Residence Newsletter #8 – Last call

Hello everyone.

Believe me, I admit that I was one of the people who campaigned for a long time for the annual meeting to take place earlier in the year, but despite all my good will and given all the problems I have had to deal with since last October 1st (and there are still many more), I unfortunately could not organize the meeting earlier! I am sorry! The water quality problems that we have been experiencing for several days now must be analyzed in depth and this is not on the agenda of this meeting. We must consult the company (Santo Domingo) that sold us these filters and consult specialists to see what we can do to resolve this major problem as quickly as possible! Some items on the agenda are incomplete (despite all my requests to professionals, I still haven’t received the promised and necessary quotes…). Examples: Drainage of water from the gutters, renovation and waterproofing of the roofs, several electrical renovations, renovation of the paintwork of the building entrances, etc…. There are therefore several items that we should postpone to a later date.

Furthermore:
In case you are not yet aware, yesterday, as administrator, I received a summons to court for a complaint filed by the tenants of apartment 1H. So I went to court this morning and, to cut a long story short, but I will try to send you a more detailed report as soon as possible. In summary, the judge asked me to formalize our decisions regarding our internal regulations (available here) and the arrangement and accessibility of surveillance cameras for all owners. It’s too late to add or modify the meeting’s agenda, but given the circumstances, I feel compelled to inform you and announce that we will have to discuss it. Since it’s not on the agenda, we cannot officially decide on the matter at this meeting, but we can at least demonstrate our commitment to formalizing our own rules and decisions as soon as possible at a future meeting. I therefore recommend that we try to cover as many items on the current agenda as possible and plan a special meeting in a few weeks to address several items that we won’t be able to address this Saturday, such as this one, but not only.

In short, since October 1st, I have had to deal with intense situations such as, pool renovation, repeated flooding and other issues that have kept me busy day and night! I’ve done my best to answer and assist you, and I’m willing to continue because I’m convinced that if everyone participates, in a few months we’ll have a beautiful residence in excellent condition!
I’ve never claimed to be perfect; I may not have always made the best choices. I would have liked to do even more and even better, but it’s time to know what we want, so I invite you to take advantage of your vote to express yourselves. I thank all of you who have already shared your comments, criticisms, and support regarding these almost six months spent as administrator, as well as your tenants (some of whom have been coming here every year for years) who told me that this year they’ve noticed a very positive change in the residence, both in terms of atmosphere and appearance! … It’s great to hear or read! It proves that our efforts are notable and that we’re on the right track. We must continue!
